The best campsite we have ever stayed at in France. A superb owner who ensures the site is clean, well kept and he goes out of his way to help visitors. Cannot fault the site, location and quality. We will return again in 2024.

Accueil en anglais ! Petit camping au bord de la Dordogne. Emplacements assez grands, plats, sur herbe et délimités. Environnement calme. Petite piscine. Sanitaires un peu vieillots mais propres. Mieux sur les photos que dans la réalité.|

We have just had another fabulous stay at Camping De La Bastide. This is one of our most favourite sites and one we always try to stay at travelling south & returning north. It is a small, immaculately kept site and the toilets (7 in all !!)plus washing up facilities and showers all kept spotlessly clean. ALL nationalities are made to feel very welcome by Peter the owner and Daniel his son who are both fluent French speakers and they will go out of their way to help anyone if they have any problems. So, if you are looking for a very friendly chilled out site for relaxation with a swimming pool, overlooking the Dordogne river and near the Bastide town with fantastic Saturday market, this is the place for you.

English run campsite within walking distance to Sainte Foy La Grande. The family who run the campsite could not be more helpful and welcoming. The sanitary block, washing up, laundry room etc are all kept very clean. The pool is a welcome bonus. There are lovely views of the river from the campsite. Great location for exploring Gironde wine country. There is a useful enclosed field next to the campsite office, where you can exercise your dogs.

Très bon camping personnel très agréable. Je vous le recommande.

This was our second visit to this site and I can honestly say it is still the cleanest campsite we have ever visited since we started caravanning in France 27 years ago. Peter (the owner) really cares about the site and he works non-stop to ensure everything is as it should be. I would recommend this site to anyone who likes a small quiet site right on the banks of the Dordogne.

Probably one of our favourite sites during our holiday. Immaculately kept. No children there during our stay so suited us well. Plenty of eateries and supermarket options in the town. Hope to return next summer. If I say more positive comments I'll only be repeating all the excellent comments here.

For us the perfect holiday destination over the last 11 years, firstly with our caravan now a motorhome. Peter the owner is a fantastic guy, nothing too much trouble. The facilities are excellent kept meticulously clean. A lovely quiet site which meets all our needs including easy foot access to a local Super U.

Great camping. It looks very well taken care of. The staff speaks English which is very helpful for the foreigners, like me. The swimming pool is great to cool off in. Sanitaire is for a camping pretty good! It’s helpful that there is a room where you can hang out, just sit and chill and charge your phone. One downside, if you go here, bring anti mosquito spray or something like that with you, there are a lot!!

We thoroughly enjoyed our 3 day stay at this small friendly campsite. We had a lovely pitch overlooking the Loire and the weather was fabulous which helped! Daniel helped us to discover some great cycle routes in the area. Would definitely go back.

We camped at this campsite 31.7.22 to 4.8.22. We were very impressed with the shady and large comfort pitch and the cleanliness of all of the facilities. The pool area was lovely with crystal clear water and plenty of loungers with parasols for shade. We then traveled to the south coast (Narbonne) and after one night and day at our new campsite (which we had paid for 5 nights) decided we were not happy there and came straight back, driving through the night, to Camping de la Bastide for the final 3 nights. My mum said that it was like coming back home. The English owner was so lovely and welcoming. He also helped us find and get an appointment with a vet for our dog who needed worming tablets before returning to the UK. I have been to many campsites in France, Spain, Portugal, Germany, Italy and even Corfu and this campsite ranks as one of the best and I hope to return again, maybe next year. My only suggestion for an improvement would be to offer the opportunity to order and buy bread and croissants that could be delivered to the campsite each morning. I do appreciate that for a small campsite this may not be possible.

We use this site year after year. The site is spotless, and perfectly kept. Peter the owner, cannot do enough to help you in whatever situation, and is always welcoming and cheerful. The site is ideal for caravans, but perfect for Motorhomes, as it is adjacent (200m) to the historic town, for everything you could need, and only 300m from a supermarket. We'll be back !!!

We have used this site many times. Good location to explore nearby, ideal for motor-homers, as in a town with everything you could want within walking distance. The site is well kept and the owner is the most helpful you will ever find, we will keep returning !

Had a great stopover at this site. It is really picturesque, overlooking the Dordogne, and really well maintained. If you have dogs there is a fab field to exercise them off lead. Ours loved it. Plus the facilities are really clean, and the owner is very friendly. Would definitely go again and would recommend.

We spent a week in one of the 'Mobil homes' that they have. We've been several times and never disappointed. Always a friendly welcome and a nice relaxed, quiet site. Pool was lovely and never crowded either. See you all again soon!

Our stay at this camp site has been perfect. The site is exceptionally clean and well cared for. The pool along with the facilities are checked several times a day. Pete the owner with the help of Kaye and Danny make it their business to look after you. The surrounding area’s are easy to visit and you are made to feel very welcome. During this difficult year we have felt very safe at this site and will definitely be back next year along with other campers that had an equally enjoyable, safe experience.
